Mark your calendars now. Friday, March 28, 2008 is the date for the 60th Delta Tau Pig Dinner. That’s right! This is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Phi Gam Chapter at SMU. Hard to believe? You bet! If you haven’t been to a Pig Dinner recently…….make this the year you start again. The Chapter has made amazing strides in recent years and just completed a fantastic Rush by pledging 39 new men, keeping the Chapter membership well over 100.
The Pig Dinner this year will be held on a Friday night rather than the usual Saturday. The location is the Radisson Hotel on Central Expressway just south of Yale Blvd. (SMU Blvd.). An Open House will be held at the Fraternity House from 4:30 to 6:00. There will be a cash bar at the Radisson from 6:30 to 7:30, followed by dinner at 7:30.
The speaker this year will be Dale Hansen, long time sports announcer for Channel 8 WFAA-TV in Dallas. You won’t want to miss his witty, outspoken commentary on sports and just about anything else that pops into his head. This just in: We signed Dennis McKnight, SMU’s new offensive line coach to join us for dinner and precede Dale with his comments on the “New Pony Era” !
